100. FAXE Amber (Denmark)
The Viking strikes again! Our friends Dave and Holly came over and I was able to share beer 100 with friends. I pulled out the giant can of Faxe Amber from my fridge and we knew it would be #100.
The beer was really good, cold and not to overpowering. Some of the other Faxe beers were very strong. I drank it form the can, which was really done for comedy and photo purposes, so it was a bit tinny. I am really glad I was able to accomplish my marathon. Who knows what crazy shit I'll get to in 2007.

99. Victory Beer - Whirlwind (US)
As the hours tick down to 2007, I enjoyed this beer while watching my Raiders get beaten down by the playoff bound Jets. This beer was nice and light, very similar to the Blue Moon Belgium style beer.

98. Brau Czech Lager (Czech Republic)
I didn't realize that this was beer 98, since two of my posts were out of order. With two days left in 2006, I need to drink two more beers, I really can't believe its happening. At times I felt it was impossible that I wouldn't do it, and then there were beer droughts. Its happening, probably some time tomorrow, while my friends and I are watching Battle Star Galactica.
I went back to see my posts to make sure I had all the numbers accounted for then I found huge gaps. I need to type in entries for about 15 beers.
The beer was another one of the Eastern European beers that are all over my neighborhood. It was neutral, neither bad nor good. I was drinking it while watching the Al Gore movie, yeah it was a downer.

96. Magic Hat - Roxy Rolles (US)
Wow I can't believe I'm actually this close to finishing four more beers in basically one week. I picked up some beer at the supermarket yesterday, and decided to force open the crisper where, I had a bunch of beers stuck. One of those beers was this Roxy Rolles, i was a bit disappointed. There was too much of a taste don't dig, kind of meaty. I don't know. I realized that Magic Hat really only makes two good beers, #9 and Fat Angel.

95. Fosters (Australia)
I purposely kept a few regular beers in reserve, for the home stretch. So when we spent my 11th anniversary of legal beer drinking at the Outback steak house, I was able to get Fosters. I really like Fosters, especially from the big can.
Fosters, is a very ordinary beer, but it good. It doesn't taste like anything other than beer. I remember one hot summer day when I was painting mom's kitchen, I got a can of Fosters and took a nap on the hammock, fuck was that refreshing.

93. Heineken (Holland)
94. Serges (Portugal)
The annual Disney Christmas party, an event that can't be missed, by nearly half of the staff. This year they were touting the return of the open bar, but as the clock ticked down till 2007, I knew I needed to get some brews in me.
When we arrived, I went over an got a Heineken, one of the none rare beers I left for such an occasion. I love Heineken, especially with wings. Mmmm Heineken and wings! There was this "mentalist" walking through the crowd, he did some freaky shit. With only one beer in me, I knew that my mind was being blown and that I could still drive. After we eventually headed over to a table, and I picked up another beer at the bar, it was a Portuguese beer called Serges. It was pretty average, I guess the official beer of most countries is basically the Budweiser of fill in the blank country.

91. Hofbrau Muchen - Hefe Weizen (Germany)
92. Sierra Nevada - Celebration Ale (US)
Some of these German beers I have drank have been so good. They are light and refreshing. And they all go great with food, I've enjoyed lots of beer this year with chili covered mangoes. MMMM.
While I didn't really like the Celebration Ale, it had that same meaty/wine taste that i find so vile. Ani thought I should save that for Christmas. No thanks.

90. Sam Adams Black Lager (US)
For a beer this dark it was really light, and didn't have much flavor. But it is significant, I am 10 beers away, with 30 days to go. I really think this is going to happen. I'm going to try to make my updates in more real time, the rest of the way.
Thursday, November 23
87. Sam Adams Hefeweizen (US)
88. Steinlager (New Zealand)
89. Shark Tooth Ale (US)
Ahh, Thanksgiving, a day for indulgence. I hit the bottle pretty early. I had a Hefeweizen before any guest showed up. It was good, and I was in a good mood to take on the day. The beer I bought for dinner was a beer from New Zealand that I saw at the distributors, I'm going to be honest it just wasn't that good. The Budweiser of New Zealand apparently.
I don't remember drinking the Shark Tooth, I know I had it with Kelvin and Shawnda and we were all pretty stuffed from our dinners, but it was smooth and was a great dessert.
Wednesday, November 22
85. Brooklyn Pennant Ale `55 (US)
86. Brooklyn Weise Beer (US)
I'm beginning to think that some of these breweries just put different labels on their beers. They are not very different from each other and Brooklyn seems to be a very ordinary brand of beer. The Weise was lighter and more honey-ish, but it was disappointing compared to other beers of its kind.
Wednesday, November 15
79. Faxe 10%- extra Strong Beer (Denmark)
80. Ztoty Kur (Poland)
81. Hair of the Dog - Doggie Claws (US)
82. Sam Adams Scotch Ale (US)
83. Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale (US)
84. Flying Dog- Dogotoberfest (US)
So I'm playing catch up with my posts. These beers were mostly drunk during the middle of November so I'll use the date November 15th. Even though most were drunk before that. Faxe is that bizarre Viking beer I drank last year with Dave. But this is a 10% version that I bought in Canada, and sadly that was the last of the Canadian beers. Unlike the other one which came in a huge can, this wa s a normal sized can, but was all black. The beer itself was strong, but not as strong as other high alcohol content beers I've had.
Hair of the Dog and the Sam Adams scotch ale were the two worst beers I drank all year. They tasted rancid and almost wine like. And I hate wine.
Like the other blueberry beer I had the bar Harbor was very disappointing. It was too bubbly and too sweet.
Friday, November 3
77. Hofbrau Oktoberfest (Germany)
78. Pete’s Wicked Rally Cape Ale (USA)
I’m kicking off November with a bang. I’m going to hit my stash in the fridge hard this weekend, tonight as I enjoyed some Indian food, I had the third really great Oktoberfest beer I’ve had this year. Like the Lowenbrau and Spaten before them, Hofbrau is also an import from Germany. So nice, so good. It was light in color but rich in taste. But it didn’t taste like nuts; like the Rally Cap Ale did, it tasted like beer.
Thursday, November 2
70. Long Leg English Fuggles Hop Ale (UK)
71. Hoegaarden (Belgium)
72. Tipple Horse
73. Brooklyn East India Pale Ale (USA)
74. Lowenbrau Oktoberfest (Germany)
75. Sea Dog Blue Paw (USA)
76. Hitachino Nest Beer Weizen (Japan)
Due to not having any time I have fallen off pace for 100 beers in a year, but my liver is strong and I will catch up. I ended up three down for the month of October. One of the holiest months in the beer calendar. But I digress. Also with highs and lows of the baseball playoffs how can you concentrate on beer, or anything … sorry Ani.
I mentioned on my man blog that we had found this new beer distributor on Jericho Turnpike, and that the guy there not only welcomed splitting up six packs but he gave some great recommendations. He was very high on the German brewed Oktoberfests beers and rightfully so! The best beer I had in October was the Lowenbrau Oktoberfest. Which is now once again brewed in Munich. I last drank Lowenbrau in EPCOT center’s Oktoberfest restaurant in the giant stein (see picture on the right), so I was really enthused about this beer. It so didn’t disappoint. I only wish I had some brats to eat with it.
Don’t you hate when your computer freezes, luckily this post saved in WORD.

69. Blue Moon Belgian White (USA)
Ani really wanted that fried Mac-n-cheese she saw advertised on TV. So we headed out to Chili’s, unfortunately they sell it at TGI Fridays. But we were there and we were hungry so we ordered some food. I also checked out their beer selection and ordered a Blue Moon. I have been hearing a lot about Blue Moon, so I was interested in trying it. The waitress asked if I would like an orange in it. Huh? Sure. So a few minutes later she brings out two frosty mugs of beer (its always buy one get one at Chili’s) with oranges in it. It was a really good beer. I’m not sure why there was an orange in it, but a beer soaked orange is tasty. The beer itself had a really distinctive taste and smell of honey. It wasn’t overly strong and it was really refreshing. I think I’ll revisit this one in January.
Friday, September 15
68. Tecate (Mexico)
It was raining really hard and I needed to do laundry. I was kind of snaky. So I ventured out heading towards Dunkin’ Donuts, I noticed a Mexican restaurant that claimed it was a bar. I said when in Rome. I went in and this place was really cheesy. I got a bottle of Tecate and some chips with guacamole. Ughh this beer was terrible, I guess a lot of these foreign beers that end up here are their Budweiser’s. I probably would have been better off picking up a cold beer from the distributor next to the Laundromat, I’m sure if I brought the attendant one she would have had n problem with me drinking in there.

Sunday, September 10
66. Long Board Lager (USA)
Mom got some really kick ass Mets tickets. So Mom, Ani, Mike and me head over to Shea, Mike and Mom look for some food, I go and look for some beers> Its funny upstairs at Shea there is not the beer selection that the field level gets. I grabbed a Long board Lager form the Kona Brewing Company in Hawaii. It was a really fresh tasting beer. Not to bubbly or harsh. It was too bad the Mets were bitch slapped by the Dodgers, but a day at the ballpark and a cold frosty beer is really never too bad.
Saturday, September 9
64. Spaten Oktoberfest (Germany)
Ani had sent me an email that there was going to be an Octoberfest at Atlas Park. I remember last year before they were actually opened they had an Octoberfest (also in September) and there were free beers. So I was excited and hoped to nab some free beers. Unfortunately they wised up and were selling beers this year. I grabbed a Spaten Oktoberfest and we grabbed a bratwurst. Could two food items go better together? A real German brat and a real German beer. The only thing that could have made it better if the beers were served by bosomy German girls, but alas. A nice day in the sun, a good beer and a good sausage. Who could as for more?
Thursday, September 7
63. Harnas (Poland)
I was getting so Chinese food down at 888 kitchen and as I waited I went into the little Polish deli next door and they have a huge selection of polish beers. I saw one that caught my fancy it was called Harnas and claimed to be beer from the Polish Highlands. I didn’t know there were Polish highlands, but I checked it out. The price was right only $1.00 for a 24 oz bottle. It is a hearty beer but really very regular. I see why it costs a buck. It is a great beer for getting drunk, but not so much for someone looking for great beers.
Wednesday, September 6
62. Samuel Adams Boston Lager (USA)
This afternoon I got an email from Ani and she had stumbled upon a fellow marathon beer drinker, this guy Nick is attempting to drink 365 beers this year, as of this afternoon he was up to 260 or so. I felt I have drank a lot of beer this year, and he has gone 200 more so far. Well all I can do is tip my glass and say cheers.
He mentioned in an email to me that he had talked to a guy in England who was going for the 365, but quit after 40, I wonder if there are other as I coined the phrase earlier "marathon Drinkers." I will find my people!
Anyway I got inspired to get back on the stool. I drank a Sam Adams Boston Lager. After a few long days at work it was just right to take the edge off and relax me for a evening of Rockstar: Supernova. The foam head was kind of woody and the beer itself had a really great orangey glow to it. It was not anything out of the ordinary but it was a good solid beer.
Saturday, August 26
59. Maudite
60. Old Thumper (USA)
61. Pale Chamberlain Ale (USA)
I figured that my trip to visit New Hampshire would give me opportunities for beer drinking. Dave brought a large bottle of Maudite. It is a 9% beer that has an image of a dwarves rowing a viking style long boat into hell. It was really good and muddy looking and went well with the burgers we grilled up. Maybe I'm getting much more used to it but I drank a higher alcohol beer and had no wobble afterwards.
Last time we were up head I had the Pumpkin beer from a local brewery called Shipyard. We went to the supermarket and grabbed a variety pack from them. I got around to drinking two of them, Old Thumper and Pale Chamberlain Ale. I was really not impressed with either one. Both were a little too bitter for my tastes. I was really hoping some something as soft and flavorful as the Pumkinhead. But alas.
Friday, August 25
58. Samuel Adams Summer Ale (USA)
We are up in New Hampshire, and one of Kelvin's neighbors is moving. So a bunch of them are drinking on the outside lawn of their housing complex. We had some Sam Adams, I had a Summer Ale it was too lemony. I'm hoping to try some of the strong beer that Dave brought up, and perhaps we'll pick up some local beer in the morning.
Thursday, August 24
Tuesday, August 22
56. Samuel Adams Brown Ale (USA)
I'm in the middle of my fantasy draft and I'm enjoying a Sam Adams Brown Ale. It had a really good wood color. Like liquid bark. My posting when I am in the process of drinking are a little different than my memory posts.
Anyway. Good beer. And I took Peyton Manning with the 5th overall pick.
Saturday, August 19
54. Samuel Adams Boston Ale (USA)
55. Lakeport Honey Lager (Canada)
20 years ago a collection of 25 brave men brought glory to the city and on Saturday August 19th they were honored by those who saw it, those who kind of remember it, and those who missed it all together. That's right the Mets honored the 1986 championship team at Shea, and what better way to honor a great hard working/hard playing team than toasting them with a beer. But this was a pretty rowdy bunch, they got a two beer toast from someone who was too young to fully enjoy it the first time around.
The first beer I had was a a Sam Adams Boston Ale, very appropriate considering the victims of the 1986 world championship the Boston Red Sox. Its a good solid beer, it has a nice taste not to heavy. Its not a Keith Hernandez or Gary Carter of beers but it solidly a Tim Tueful. Solid, gets the job done, nothing too fancy.
The second beer I had was the last Canadian can I had in the fridge, it is called Lakeport Honey Lager. I was really disappointed in it, I would really like to taste a twinge of honey in these so-called honey lagers. So in the terms of the Mets its like a Kevin Elster or Dave Magadan, its not getting into the line up, but in a pinch its there but not something you'd depend on.
Saturday, August 12
52. Red Stripe (Jamaica)
53. Bavaria (Holland)
Rarely have beers that have funny commercials and are well known to college kids any good. They are usually cheap, readily available and very generic. But Red Stripe is so the exception. When I bought a six pack of the cute little fat bottles for Mike's birthday I had no idea how good they were going to be.
The beer had really good flavor, but not an overwhelming non-beer taste. All I can say is Hooray Beer!
I also brought some Bavaria beer over. It was very plain and uninspiring, and despite not feeling it. It leveled the playing field while we played Trivial Pursuit. I can only see the reason to drink this beer is that is it cheap.
Tuesday, August 8
51. Kronenbourg 1664 (France)
Can't the French do anything right? One of the beers I got in Canada was a French beer with a very German name (Kronenbourg) and very British packaging. It is really too bad they didn't go with the taste of German of British beer. Wow this is awful beer. It is the fourth beer I drank that came out of a can, but it is the only one that tasted like I was chewing tin foil.
When I told people about this horrid beer, they mentioned cheese, snootiness, and toast as things the French do well. Beer brewing is not one of their specialties.
Saturday, August 5
48. St. Paulie Girl (USA)
49. Pumpkinhead Ale (USA)
50. Heineken Light (Holland)
We visited our friends Mark and Becky up in Maine to celebrate Mark's successful return from his overseas deployment. I brought up a six pack of St. Paulie Girl, who can't trust big busted beer maiden to serve you a delicious beer. You would never buy a beer whose logo was a flat chested woman. But I digress.
After we arrive in Maine, Mark, Kelvin, one of Mark's college friends Elizabeth and I drove over to the supermarket. We picked up some national beers like Heineken Light, Guinness, Miller Light, and Bud Light along with some malt style drinks (Twisted Tea - Smirnoff coolers). We also got a local beer called Pumpkinhead ale. Grabbed some ice and headed back, we filled up the cooler with the beers and soda, ice and then stated pouring in salted water. Within a few minutes we had ice cold brews. A side note the next morning we still had ice cold drinks and ice floating in the cooler.
Yes the bottles were a little salty, but we had a rag to wipe them down so no worries. The first beer I drank as St. Paulie Girl, it was a nice hearty beer. But it went down really smooth. I am glad I went for this one first, since all six were quickly gone from the cooler.
We ate and then I had a Pumkinhead Ale. Wow was this beer the surprise hit of the party. For starters when you smelled this almost orange colored beer, it had the distinct smell of pumpkin spices. It was like a pumpkin pie. It was awesome. The beer itself was unremarkable (though good) but the aroma was so great. Unlike other beers that have had strong other smells this one is not something that I could see people getting sick of. Perhaps when I go up to New Hampshire in a few weeks, I'll pick some of these up for Thanksgiving.
A little later, I reached a milestone and hit the halfway point in my journey. I drank beer number 50, Heineken Light. I really like Heineken, but Heineken light is so tasteless. Dave once told me about a place where they track the beers that you drink, and its tradition to have a loser at your milestones. Well mission accomplished.
There were never any of the beers I hadn't drunk cold at a time when I wanted a beer, so I didn't drink anymore while I was up there. I would have loved a Bud Light at 7am. But alas.
Monday, July 31
47. Magic Hat: Circus Boy (USA)
In day two of our second heat wave I cracked open a new beer from Magic Hat. This one is called Circus Boy. It is a Hefeweizen, which I believe is a German wheat beer.
It is really light and tasty, but not at all watered down. There is not much of a head on it and it was somewhat cloudy. But honestly you can pour it into your glass and it ready to drink pretty quickly.
With an impeding blackout ready to hit the Northeast any day now, I put the rest of my Canadian beer haul in the fridge, so Ill have something to drink in the dark. This is the sixth Magic Hat beer I've drank this year.
This really doesn't have anything to do with an exotic beer beer or my quest to drink 100 different beers this year. But is anything hotter than that? I don't think so. Interesting fact. The beer they are drinking is called Spatan, its a German beer and one of the longest continuously brewed beers in the world. Thanks for that great fact Mr.Dowd!
Sunday, July 30
I found a great beer distributor not far from my house. It is called Shoreline Beverages and is on Route 110 on Long Island. They didn't care about breaking up six packs. I bought two mixed six packs and now I have a good supply of beer that will last me a few weeks. I am fired up.
I'm also fired up about going back to shoreline when these beers are done and getting some more.
I'm also fired up about going back to shoreline when these beers are done and getting some more.
Wednesday, July 26
45. Innis and Gunn (Scotland)
Have I finally found a beer that Ani likes. I think so. What makes this beer remarkable is it was partially aged in oak casks that are usually used for making malt whiskey. The taste was very nutty, almost smoky. It is like a meal, because it is very full bodied and each sip was a different experience. It is a good novelty beer, but i couldn't see drinking Innis and Gunn as a regular every day type of thing. I kind of think that it is the kind of beer that you drink while your in a remote cabin, it's snowing outside and your chilling perhaps grilling some steaks.
Friday, July 21
44. Molson Canadian (Canada)
Molson Canadian is a very unremarkable beer. It would be perfectly acceptable at a barbecue or at a ball game. But its the kind of beer that you drink and a little while later you just piss out.
Thursday, July 13
43. Budweiser (U.S.A)
I'll preface this post with this phrase ... The King of Beers My Ass!
I had a day off and was bored, so I ended up going to what I later learned was the most depressing strip club. This place is right across the street from the place where the Boy Scout Roundtable meetings take place. I always drive past it but never went in. I was right all those years.
I walked in and there was a pretty girl sitting with this big fat guy on the other side of the bar. On the stage was this really haggard looking plump girl. I ordered a beer form the older lady with big breasts. The woman on the stage was kind of slowly walking, she was chewing sunflower seeds. An aside I hope this is their b-team. The other girl is now sitting around drinking red bull and loudly talking about soccer with some guy.
The girl on stage mentioned that she was 31, just like someone on the TV. Yikes. I guess it is true what Indiana Jones says ... "It's not the years its the mileage".
Going back to how I started this post, Budweiser sucks. This particular bottle seems to have been cooled, warmed up and then re-cooled. Damn skunky beer is so bad.
Wednesday, July 12
42. Coopers (Australia)
Ani had gone to the new Tuck Shop restaurant near her office, which is an Australian joint. And she picked up a bottle of Coopers. It came in a really nice dark bottle, and was crisp and clear, I think it would have accompanied food really well.
Sunday, June 25
36. Rickard's Red (Canada)
37. Sleeman's Honey Lager (Canada)
We had these beers at the World famous Second City comedy club. We saw some great improv there that night. When I ordered my first beer, I mispronounced the name. The waiter called me on it "you must be from the states". Nice attitude, I hope you don't mind getting stiffed on your tip.
The food and drinks at the Second City were all pretty bad. We needed to get some hot wings elsewhere to wash the taste out of our mouths!
Saturday, June 24
34. Red Claw Lager (USA)
35. Patagonia (Argentina)
Saturday night in Toronto, after the second Mets-Jays game (I'm not talking about the score) Ani and I searched for some food. After seeing the porn shoot on the docks, and not wanting to wait for any of the restaurants there, we ended up at Red Lobster. Good dependable food, I also had a Red Claw Lager, it was good and compliment my Admiral's Feast perfectly. Well worth two toonies and a loonie, what is that $1.39?.
When we got back to our room, I had the Patagonia beer from Argentina after a quick dip in the pool. A perfect way to end a fun day of vacation.
Friday, June 23
33. Steam Whistle (Canada)
On our first full day in Toronto, Ani and I found ourselves in a pizzeria in Little Italy. I traveled to a foreign country to go to Little Italy? What? Anyway the Pizza was fantastic and I got to try a really fresh tasting local beer. Steam Whistle which is brewed right behind the Sky Dome is kind of like Toronto's official beer. That and Molson. It was really good, I am not sure how it would taste form a bottle or can, but from the draft it was good - ehh!
Thursday, June 1
31. Brooklyn Lager (USA)
There was a big movement for a few months at work, for non-formal get togethers, so a bunch of us went to play spades at a local bar after work. Not wanting to get to blasted (since I wanted to win the tournement) I only had one beer. It was a Brooklyn Lager, it was a really good beer, I can't wait to try some other varieties from Brooklyn in the near future.
Friday, May 19
Tuesday, May 16
29. Coors Light (USA)
Yet another crappy over produced US beer. Coincidence? I think not. But once again after a softball game licking our wounds, someone buys a pitcher, when in Rome.
Sunday, May 14
28. Tiger Singapore (Singapore)
Happy Mother's day. Neither my mom or my mother-in-law are beer drinkers. So I had one for them.
Friday, May 5
27. Taj Mahal (India)
I had this beer with Indian food one night we had dinner with Ani's brother Jacop and his girlfriend Christine. I am going to have to agree with Dave, countries with warm climates aren't the best place to make great beer.
Tuesday, May 2
26. Bud Light (USA)
Even bad beer is ok after a rousing game of softball. Unfortunately we lost this game ... Like most of our games this season.
Sunday, April 16
Friday, April 14
Tuesday, April 11
23. Guiness (Ireland)
Though I thought it would be fitting to save drinking a pint of Guiness with Kelvin, I drank this to kick-off the second season of my work softball team. He got our asses handed to us twenty something to nothing, it was grim forshadowing of the rest of the season, but w all had fun. And on that night we all forgot about the Toros and how we were mauled. Ok I didn't forget.
Sunday, April 9
Saturday, April 8
21. Becks (USA)
I belive I had this at Ani's Parents house when we went over to celebrate her birthday. This is one of two beers that I have drank twice this year.
Friday, April 7
20. Yuegling Lager (?)
Honestly I don't get why everyone like Yuegling so much. I had this beer in a huge plastic cup at Medieval Times on Ani's birthday. And it was fun drinking a little before watching knights and what not. The beer didn't give me the guts to call our waitress wench. The beer was mediocre at best.
Thursday, March 23
18. O'Harah's Stout (Ireland)
19. Red Tail Ale ()
How could Kelvin have a 30th birthday get together at a place that has no Guinness? I just don't know. But The Bushwick Country Club did have O'Harah's Stout which was a very good alternative. Same taste, nice creamy head it was good.
Saturday, March 18
16. O'Harah's Irish Red (Ireland)
17. Delirium (?)
I didn't have a drink on St. Patrick's Day this year. Actually I figured I'd have one with Kelvin, who would be in town to check out the bar where he was having his birthday bash the next weekend. He and Mike didn't pick me up till right after midnight. So I guess I enjoyed a nice beer for Central Time zone St. Patrick's Day.
The other beer, was something I read about on The Bushwick Country Club's website. A 9% beer. It was served in a decanter, it looked pretty girly. But wow did it pack a punch. I drank it and when we were about to leave, about 20 minutes after finishing the drink. I almost fell off the stool. Delirium indeed.

11. Franziskainer (Germany)
12. Grimberger (Belgium)
This was a pretty somber day. Ani's grandmother had passed and we were at her parent's house. Ani's dad is a real good beer drinker, he always has something good chilling in one of the fridges. Its not like the boxes of microbrews and gourmet beers that are in my kitchen, but it's not cheap low rent beer. He's become quite the beneficiary of my quest, as he has gotten most of my doubles.

2. Stella Artois (???)
This beer had a great write up, on some napkins at the BBQ place we found in Westbury. Unfortunately that napkin is all but gone now. I remember it was so cold the water in the beer was frozen, it was almost like a slushy. I've now read that conditions like those can affect the taste of the beer. But all I know, I was drinking a cold frosty beer and wolfing down BBQ. Yum!

I hope not to become an alcoholic, but this year I am going to drink 100 beers by December 31st 2006. I am already twelve days into the year.
By my estimates I am four beers behind. I checke dout my fridge and we have seven different varieties of beers, three varieties of Magic Hat, some MGD, a Corona, Holy Grail Ale and something I can't remember.
After dinner I picked up one of the MGDs, for a non-gourmet beer it is delicious and smooth. The taste is not complex, frankly it tastes like beer. I remember the first time I had a MGD it was at Kelvin's fraternity's letter ceremony. MGD was flowing like water and we were drinking it by the pitcherful. That night I got so drunk, it was pretty funny in retrospect. I'm not going to get that drunk during this experiment.
So with the weekend coming up I hope to drink all the beers in my fridge and look for a distributor that lets me make mixed 6-packs, no need to drink six of anything. I have lots of bottle openers, my Mets pint glass and some ambition.
