87. Sam Adams Hefeweizen (US)
88. Steinlager (New Zealand)
89. Shark Tooth Ale (US)

Ahh, Thanksgiving, a day for indulgence. I hit the bottle pretty early. I had a Hefeweizen before any guest showed up. It was good, and I was in a good mood to take on the day. The beer I bought for dinner was a beer from New Zealand that I saw at the distributors, I'm going to be honest it just wasn't that good. The Budweiser of New Zealand apparently.

I don't remember drinking the Shark Tooth, I know I had it with Kelvin and Shawnda and we were all pretty stuffed from our dinners, but it was smooth and was a great dessert.

85. Brooklyn Pennant Ale `55 (US)
86. Brooklyn Weise Beer (US)

I'm beginning to think that some of these breweries just put different labels on their beers. They are not very different from each other and Brooklyn seems to be a very ordinary brand of beer. The Weise was lighter and more honey-ish, but it was disappointing compared to other beers of its kind.

79. Faxe 10%- extra Strong Beer (Denmark)
80. Ztoty Kur (Poland)
81. Hair of the Dog - Doggie Claws (US)
82. Sam Adams Scotch Ale (US)
83. Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale (US)
84. Flying Dog- Dogotoberfest (US)

So I'm playing catch up with my posts. These beers were mostly drunk during the middle of November so I'll use the date November 15th. Even though most were drunk before that. Faxe is that bizarre Viking beer I drank last year with Dave. But this is a 10% version that I bought in Canada, and sadly that was the last of the Canadian beers. Unlike the other one which came in a huge can, this wa s a normal sized can, but was all black. The beer itself was strong, but not as strong as other high alcohol content beers I've had.

Hair of the Dog and the Sam Adams scotch ale were the two worst beers I drank all year. They tasted rancid and almost wine like. And I hate wine.

Like the other blueberry beer I had the bar Harbor was very disappointing. It was too bubbly and too sweet.

77. Hofbrau Oktoberfest (Germany)
78. Pete’s Wicked Rally Cape Ale (USA)

I’m kicking off November with a bang. I’m going to hit my stash in the fridge hard this weekend, tonight as I enjoyed some Indian food, I had the third really great Oktoberfest beer I’ve had this year. Like the Lowenbrau and Spaten before them, Hofbrau is also an import from Germany. So nice, so good. It was light in color but rich in taste. But it didn’t taste like nuts; like the Rally Cap Ale did, it tasted like beer.

70. Long Leg English Fuggles Hop Ale (UK)
71. Hoegaarden (Belgium)
72. Tipple Horse
73. Brooklyn East India Pale Ale (USA)
74. Lowenbrau Oktoberfest (Germany)
75. Sea Dog Blue Paw (USA)
76. Hitachino Nest Beer Weizen (Japan)

Due to not having any time I have fallen off pace for 100 beers in a year, but my liver is strong and I will catch up. I ended up three down for the month of October. One of the holiest months in the beer calendar. But I digress. Also with highs and lows of the baseball playoffs how can you concentrate on beer, or anything … sorry Ani.

I mentioned on my man blog that we had found this new beer distributor on Jericho Turnpike, and that the guy there not only welcomed splitting up six packs but he gave some great recommendations. He was very high on the German brewed Oktoberfests beers and rightfully so! The best beer I had in October was the Lowenbrau Oktoberfest. Which is now once again brewed in Munich. I last drank Lowenbrau in EPCOT center’s Oktoberfest restaurant in the giant stein (see picture on the right), so I was really enthused about this beer. It so didn’t disappoint. I only wish I had some brats to eat with it.

Don’t you hate when your computer freezes, luckily this post saved in WORD.
