100. FAXE Amber (Denmark)

The Viking strikes again! Our friends Dave and Holly came over and I was able to share beer 100 with friends. I pulled out the giant can of Faxe Amber from my fridge and we knew it would be #100.

The beer was really good, cold and not to overpowering. Some of the other Faxe beers were very strong. I drank it form the can, which was really done for comedy and photo purposes, so it was a bit tinny. I am really glad I was able to accomplish my marathon. Who knows what crazy shit I'll get to in 2007.

99. Victory Beer - Whirlwind (US)

As the hours tick down to 2007, I enjoyed this beer while watching my Raiders get beaten down by the playoff bound Jets. This beer was nice and light, very similar to the Blue Moon Belgium style beer.

98. Brau Czech Lager (Czech Republic)

I didn't realize that this was beer 98, since two of my posts were out of order. With two days left in 2006, I need to drink two more beers, I really can't believe its happening. At times I felt it was impossible that I wouldn't do it, and then there were beer droughts. Its happening, probably some time tomorrow, while my friends and I are watching Battle Star Galactica.

I went back to see my posts to make sure I had all the numbers accounted for then I found huge gaps. I need to type in entries for about 15 beers.

The beer was another one of the Eastern European beers that are all over my neighborhood. It was neutral, neither bad nor good. I was drinking it while watching the Al Gore movie, yeah it was a downer.

96. Magic Hat - Roxy Rolles (US)

Wow I can't believe I'm actually this close to finishing four more beers in basically one week. I picked up some beer at the supermarket yesterday, and decided to force open the crisper where, I had a bunch of beers stuck. One of those beers was this Roxy Rolles, i was a bit disappointed. There was too much of a taste don't dig, kind of meaty. I don't know. I realized that Magic Hat really only makes two good beers, #9 and Fat Angel.

95. Fosters (Australia)

I purposely kept a few regular beers in reserve, for the home stretch. So when we spent my 11th anniversary of legal beer drinking at the Outback steak house, I was able to get Fosters. I really like Fosters, especially from the big can.

Fosters, is a very ordinary beer, but it good. It doesn't taste like anything other than beer. I remember one hot summer day when I was painting mom's kitchen, I got a can of Fosters and took a nap on the hammock, fuck was that refreshing.

93. Heineken (Holland)
94. Serges (Portugal)

The annual Disney Christmas party, an event that can't be missed, by nearly half of the staff. This year they were touting the return of the open bar, but as the clock ticked down till 2007, I knew I needed to get some brews in me.

When we arrived, I went over an got a Heineken, one of the none rare beers I left for such an occasion. I love Heineken, especially with wings. Mmmm Heineken and wings! There was this "mentalist" walking through the crowd, he did some freaky shit. With only one beer in me, I knew that my mind was being blown and that I could still drive. After we eventually headed over to a table, and I picked up another beer at the bar, it was a Portuguese beer called Serges. It was pretty average, I guess the official beer of most countries is basically the Budweiser of fill in the blank country.

91. Hofbrau Muchen - Hefe Weizen (Germany)
92. Sierra Nevada - Celebration Ale (US)

Some of these German beers I have drank have been so good. They are light and refreshing. And they all go great with food, I've enjoyed lots of beer this year with chili covered mangoes. MMMM.

While I didn't really like the Celebration Ale, it had that same meaty/wine taste that i find so vile. Ani thought I should save that for Christmas. No thanks.

90. Sam Adams Black Lager (US)

For a beer this dark it was really light, and didn't have much flavor. But it is significant, I am 10 beers away, with 30 days to go. I really think this is going to happen. I'm going to try to make my updates in more real time, the rest of the way.
